ABOUT THIS CHATEAU DE MALLIAC WEDDING

Chateau Malliac is located in Gascony, a region of France that is off the tourist radar, but well known within France for its fantastic food, wine and relaxed way of life. Chateau de Malliac, or as it is sometimes known 'La Belle Vie De Chateau en Gascogne' is one of the most perfect locations for an intimate destination wedding we have ever seen as wedding photographers in France.

Here, in the bride's own words, is a bit more on what makes Malliac so ideal for a French Chateau wedding:

"Dan and I wanted to find a beautiful but not overly grandiose chateau with a lot of character and a great story (the history of Malliac itself is closely interlinked with ancient history of the Gascogne region, and it also used to be a prominent Armagnac distillery). Malliac was perfect – it is stunningly beautiful, but in a very natural and non-imposing way, and all the details inside the chateau (such as antique furnishings from 19th century, a library of books throughout the chateau, and a grand piano by the fire place in the living room) exude history and attention to detail. The place was so gorgeous, there was very little decorating we had to do! Instead, we focused on making sure that our friends and family have fun, get to know each other and get to know this little corner of France that we found to be so wonderful.

With that in mind, we tried to keep the wedding relaxed and informal, and build on the local theme - with local flowers throughout the events, a tasting of local wines and Armagnac, and local food specialties (from lamb spit roast at pre-wedding BBQ, to duck – a regional highlight - at the wedding, to local croquembouche cake late at night)"
