The Hacienda Cerritos is one of Baja’s most dramatic venues. Perched high on a private bluff overlooking the ocean, the ten-room villa is an incredible location for a destination wedding. Off the beaten track about an hour away from Cabo, the hotel boasts breathtaking vistas from private balconies, ornate traditional Mexican furnishings and decor, colorful gardens, and even a romantic secret staircase to the red rooftop.
This bride got married at beautiful Esperanza Resort in Los Cabos but she and her husband wanted photos in other locations that had a more traditional Mexican flavour and incorporated the desert landscape of Baja. This hacienda, with its dirt road surrounded by cacti and just a few minutes from the beach, was the perfect spot. The intricate wooden doors at the entrance to Hacienda Cerritos were a great backdrop for this portrait of the bride in her Vera Wang gown and blusher. The rough texture of the door contrasts with the soft and delicate beauty of the bride and her dress. I like the way her hands emphasize the birdcage veil and also echo the pose of the crowned angelic figures behind her in the carved doors.
