This couple were up for anything to have different magical photos. And they were up early! To catch the sunrise at Charles Bridge in Prague, our shoot began at 6am! This allowed us to photograph during the magical time of "golden hour" - not the popular and much more convenient golden hour at sunset but the one at sunrise. This early in the morning, the 15th century bridge over the Vltava river was peaceful and almost empty. A stark contrast from the afternoon before when it was crammed with so many tourists, you could barely walk, much less get a photo without dozens of people in the background.
The historic bridge is known for its Gothic architecture and thirty different stone statues along the balustrade. I love the true Bohemian nature of this image - the backlighting makes this bride literally glow and the flare adds to the romantic atmosphere.
Prague is known as one of the most beautiful European cities. As destination wedding photographers, some of our top Prague wedding photography locations include Prague Castle, Old Town Square, St Vitas Cathedral, and Loretanska Street, but nothing really tops the Charles Bridge at sunrise.
