Throw rice, blow bubbles, wave sparklers, fling confetti, ring bells, toss petals! Whatever your choice, it's always a good idea to include guest participation during your recessional! It adds movement, and creates such a celebratory atmosphere where even the grumpiest old uncle won't be able to resist smiling! Originally, throwing rice on the newly married husband was a tradition that symbolized showering them with love, prosperity, and fertility.
This image was photographed on the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 ultra wide-angle lens to include the entire church entrance door and as many of the guests in the lines as possible. I love looking at everyone's expression in this image - from the guest in the yellow dress laughing, to the the bride's smile of pure joy ,to the wide-eyed grin of the flower girl at the door, everyone is engaged and happy!
In our opinion as wedding photographers, Ravello is the most enchanting location on the Amalfi Coast for a destination wedding. Its location 365 meters above the Tyrrhenian Sea gives it an intimate & secluded feeling much different than the tourist-crowded streets of Positano and Amalfi. The small village also offers an incredible variety of locations for wedding photography, ranging from the 13th-century Moorish-style Villa Rufolo to the posh 11th-century Villa Cimbrone.
